Welcome to District Wrestling Club!

We provide folkstyle and freestyle wrestling instruction, practice, and competition for adults of all ages and backgrounds in the nation's capital.

What Do I Need To Bring?

Wrestling shoes are highly recommended for anyone who wants to join us on the mats. We cannot have sneakers or other outside footwear on the mats, so if you don't have a pair of wrestling shoes just yet, you can practice in socks or bare feet for now.

Other than that, any gym-appropriate attire works just fine! Please remove any jewelry before practicing as well.

Take Your First Step With Us

A majority of our members are either brand new to the sport or haven't wrestled since high school. If you've never stepped foot on a mat before, don't sweat it — we keep practices accessible and accomodating to athletes of all skill levels and abilities.

Are you more experienced? Fear not: our veteran wrestlers are given plenty of leeway to make practices their own.

Zero Commitment, Budget Friendly

We offer wrestlers the option to come as often or as infrequently as their schedule allows. Drop-ins are $20 per practice (discounts available for students, interns, or early-career professionals). If you DO plan to come every week, we also have season memberships that provide an even better rate.

Remember: your first practice with us is always free.

Compete and Earn Your Chain

We get it, we're adults too: chances are you're not here looking to compete at the highest levels of the sport. Most of our members keep coming back because they enjoy our practices, and never compete in a formal match.

If you are looking to take that next leap though, we think that's dope, and deserving of recognition. We created our DWC chain as a way to celebrate our members who compete at any open tournament, regardless of the results. We're always sharing opportunities to enter open tournaments with our members.
